BADEN-BADEN I PARIS — On the occasion of Paris Art Week (Art Basel Paris), Anaid Art Gallery (Baden-Baden) is pleased to present a pop-up exhibition project running from October 20 to 25, 2026, located at 5 Rue Saint-Anastase (75003 Paris, Le Marais).
Titled SUB ROSA - L'anatomie cachée du désir / The Hidden Anatomy of Desire and curated by Diana Dochia, PhD, this group exhibition brings together the artistic practices of four distinguished contemporary artists: Alexandru Rădvan, Raluca Arnăutu, Alina Aldea and Zsolt Berszán. The project offers a tactile and visceral journey into the realms of intimacy, organic eroticism, and concealed bodies.
Amidst the artistic effervescence surrounding the main events at the Grand Palais, Anaid Art Gallery establishes a temporary sanctuary in the heart of Le Marais, emphasizing a gnoseology of the body mediated through texture, density, and secrecy. Drawing from the ancient Latin phrase sub rosa ("under the rose" — an emblem of confidentiality and protected space), the exhibition translates sensuality into an organic geometry of preserved forms.
A Three-Dimensional Dialogue Between Matter, Flesh, and Flora
The four artistic voices curated by Diana Dochia complement each other within a sophisticated architecture of sensuality:
● Alexandru Rădvan brings a powerful figurative force rooted in mythological echoes in Blossom for a Pillow, where sharp graphic lines and dense cross-hatching portray a monumental embrace — a sanctuary where the female body becomes flower and refuge.
●Raluca Arnăutu presents the collage Slender Seed, a seminal botanical form intricately enveloped in delicate lace, formulating a poetic narrative of attraction and hidden germination.
● Alina Aldea reconfigures space through the site-specific installation Out of the Black, a hypnotic sculptural core crafted from black feathers, glass, and reflective mirrors, absorbing light to invite a nocturnal reverie.
● Zsolt Berszán explores in Erotic Field a visceral, pulsating surface where the human form dissolves into a magmatic field of organic matter in constant transformation.
“SUB ROSA does not offer eroticism as an explicit visual spectacle but rather accumulates it as latent energy. It is a defense of the density of silence and of mystery as the essential prerequisite of desire” states curator Diana Dochia, PhD.
