The site-specific installation "Cells" signed by Alina Aldea represents the artist's first solo exhibition at Anaid Art Gallery in Bucharest. Alina Aldea is an artist known for her site-specific shows created in various cultural or museum spaces. Her participation in international exhibitions outlines a personality that is beginning to establish itself in the landscape of contemporary art. The site-specific display "Cells" was created especially for the gallery space, the visitor is invited to enter an interior flooded with cells, through video animation. The animation "Cells" designed by Alina Aldea represented Romania at the Mdina Biennial of Contemporary Art, Malta in March, this year. Due to the pandemic, unfortunately, the biennial was closed; only the catalogue can be accessed and consulted. About this project, Alina Aldea states: "Cells evokes the broad microscopic organic universe and brings it into a visible perspective. The images can be understood as the result of laboratory experiments which also imply the human observer. When arranged in a matrix, cells invoke the idea of control and systemic predetermination where random occurrences don't seem possible".

The exhibition space of the gallery has been redesigned for this exhibition season to replicate a cloistered block of flats, precisely to offer a unique experience. The site-specific installation "Cells" was planned to be visited in solitude: one person, maximum two. So that no one meets no one and the experience is as personal as possible.

The visit will be made according to the measures regarding the access and contact with the visiting public in museums and art galleries according to the Government Decision no. 476/2020 Order 2941/2020. One or maximum two-person at the same time is allowed to enter the exhibition; the distance between visitors must be 2 meters, the mask to cover the mouth and nose is compulsory throughout the visit, both inside and in the courtyard of the gallery; visitors will be asked to disinfect their hands at the entrance, their temperature will be taken and they have to fill out their contact details. Any visitor who does not comply with these measures will not be able to visit the exhibition.
