ALEXANDRU RĂDVAN: Skin to Skin: Museum of Art Constanta - B-dul Tomis, No. 82-84, Constanta, RO

January 10 - February 28, 2024
“The scent of your skin, the warmth of mine. The words of our endless small talks, the long sikent moments. My fingers in your hair, eyes half closed and two drops of sweat. All monumental and unforgettable.” Alexandru Rădvan
The solo show "Skin to Skin", conceived for the space of the Museum of Art in Constanta, brings together 10 (ten) large paintings made in 2023 - four of which are 3 (three) meters long each - and a series of drawings foreshadowing the pictorial developments. Having as starting point the binomial "nude/nudity" and "naked/nakedness", the exhibition continues the artist's preoccupations in recent years with the body, desires and intimacy of passionate-reflexive moments. This time, Alexandru Rădvan moves away from the mythological narrative and enters an area of representation of a personal narrative, a kind of intimate diary, in which the viewer becomes a self-contained voyeur in the pictorial context. The scenes depicted seem to tell the story of the eternal intertwining of two human beings in a state of dreaming or semi-trembling. "Skin to Skin" is an exhibition about visualizing the touch, tactility, reverie and laziness.
