- 151 Calea Victoriei, Bucharest –

On Friday, November 6, 2026, starting at 18:00, the opening of the solo show “Duet” by artist Radu Rodideal, curated by Diana Dochia, PhD, will take place at the Filipescu-Cesianu House – The Museum of Ages (151 Calea Victoriei, Bucharest, Romania). On the occasion of the opening, the public will attend a special event: a piano recital held within the exhibition space, featuring original compositions created by the artist.

The exhibition will be open to the public from November 6 to November 29, 2026, Wednesday through Sunday, between 10:00 and 18:00, at the Museum of Ages -  Filipescu-Cesianu House, part of the Bucharest Municipality Museum. The exhibition project “DUET” is organized by Anaid Art Gallery in partnership with the Bucharest Municipality Museum.

Radu Rodideal proposes a profound interdisciplinary exploration into the relationship between two artistic media — painting and music — approached as complementary forms of identity expression. Moving beyond a mere juxtaposition of image and sound, the project investigates the fertile ground where both languages touch, overlap, and translate one another.

The project brings together a series of 13 paintings and 13 original musical scores exhibited as autonomous visual works, composed by Radu Rodideal as counterparts to each individual canvas. At the core of this inquiry lies the motif of the couple, which the artist expands beyond the conventional iconography of human relationships, turning it into an ontological question about the individual in relation to oneself, to the other, and to space.

The canvases reveal dense figurative scenes marked by restrained psychological tension, where the physical proximity of the figures coexists with an embraced solitude. Geometric color interventions and compositional framing reactivate the figures, visually delineating emotional fissures, silences, and the invisible distances between individuals. In turn, the musical scores become autonomous graphic structures — lines, rhythms, cadences, and rests that sonically condense this shared poetics of absence and intimacy. The music does not illustrate the image; rather, it unfolds a new perceptual dimension, granting the viewer the freedom to begin the experience through the image, the sound, or the silent space between them.

Artist Radu Rodideal has developed a consistent and distinctive practice in contemporary art, exploring figuration, narrative tension, and the relationship between form, atmosphere, and introspection. Through the “Duet” project, the artist extends his visual vocabulary into musical composition, shaping a complete synesthetic dialogue.

Radu Rodideal holds a dual background in the arts, having graduated from the National University of Arts in Bucharest, Faculty of Painting, under Prof. Petru Lucaci, and from the National University of Music in Bucharest, specializing in piano performance. The artist was born in Bucharest in 1986. Over the years, he has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows, including: 2025: “Anatomy of the Couple”, Altes Dampfbad @ Anaid Art Gallery, Baden-Baden, Germany (solo show); 2019: “Disclosure of Romance”, Anaid Art Gallery, Berlin, Germany (solo show); 2018: “Should I stay or should I go”, Kunst Klinger Contemporary, Vienna, Austria (solo show); 2018: “Selected”, Georado Foundation, Dresden, Germany; 2015: “Colours of Life”, Cantacuzino Castle, Bușteni, Romania. His works are included in notable public and private collections across Germany, Romania, France, Italy, Belgium, and the USA. Radu Rodideal has been represented by Anaid Art Gallery Bucharest | Baden-Baden | Paris since 2018.
